• The Path to Becoming a Hypnotherapist

"Not all those who wander are lost" - J.R.R. Tolkien

Funny how circuitous wanderings end up getting us to where we want to go...

After studying microbiology, chemistry and child psychology in school (the first time) with plans on becoming an M.D. I married shortly before graduating. Raised three wonderful children who were my laboratory subjects in accelerated learning. Worked as an extra in the movie industry. Developed two different at-home businesses. Divorced. Became a single mother.

Got an associate's degree in computer repair. Became a programmer developing some of the first cd-roms in the entertainment field. Married again. Not a good idea. But I learned a tremendous amount about myself and relationships. Single again.

Went to work as a programmer for a financial software company. Outside of work I continued to study diverse fields of science and psychology including nutrition, quantum physics, and human relationships. Adopted a child. Went to work for a defense contractor. Got a B.S. in Information Technology. Adopted another child.

After much soul searching I realized that I still wanted to work in health care. Researched, researched, researched looking for some way to help people become healthier. Decided hypnotherapy was the best way to help people heal themselves rapidly by working directly with the subconscious. Went to a world-famous school in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Started my practice in Tucson, Arizona and worked there for two years. Moved back home to Hawaii and am starting my practice up here.

I bring a great deal of real life experience and empathy to my practce. And everyday I wake up grateful for the opportunity to help other people become healthy. I love what I'm doing.

What Are My Passions?

My children and grandchildren. Being an effective hypnotherapist. Learning everything I possibly can to be a better therapist. Learning in general. FASD. Helping FASD kids and their families. Neuroscience. Energy Medicine. Sciences in general. Books.

And then there are the trivial things that I love: my goats, cooking, making goat milk cheese, growing rare fruit, educational toys, computers, reading, making things from scratch.
